As an Agricultural Extension Officer Intern aligned with VForce, you will be part of this pioneer group blending on-the-ground agricultural support with virtual coordination, enabling scalable and resilient field operations.
Position Mission
Your mission is to serve as the vital link between AgriFAAS Connect’s digital capabilities and the farmers who need them—bridging the gap with training, support, and trust. Operating under the VForce model, you’ll combine field work with remote collaboration, ensuring that smallholder farmers and cooperatives confidently adopt and benefit from technology-driven farm management.
Key Responsibilities

Onboarding & Training
-
Lead both in-person and virtual training sessions on the AgriFAAS Connect mobile and web apps.

Simplify digital tools for low-literacy users.

Assist farmers in onboarding processes—profile creation, initial farm setup, and troubleshooting.

Field Support & Digital Literacy
-
Provide in-community support to troubleshoot challenges during app usage.

Reinforce farmers’ digital confidence, showing the value of logging planting, expenses, and harvest data.

Data Management & Quality Assurance
-
Support accurate and timely data entry on the platform.

Review and correct farmer-entered data remotely or in person, emphasizing its role in financial inclusion and smart farming.

Feedback & Platform Enhancement

Gather user insights and feedback in the field and virtually.

Relay this feedback to the product development team for informed improvements.

Relationship & Community Engagement
-
Build trust with farmers, cooperative leaders, and community stakeholders.

Be the friendly, accessible representative of AgriFAAS Connect—physically and virtually.

Organize and facilitate both on-site and virtual community sessions that promote peer learning.

Reporting & Monitoring

Track adoption rates, platform usage, and field engagement metrics.

Submit regular reports—integrating both field observations and virtual dashboards—to the Head of Extension Services.

Qualifications & Skills
Required:
-
Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Extension, Agribusiness, or a related field.

Field work experience with smallholder farming communities.
-
High digital literacy: comfortable with smartphone and web app usage.
-
Exceptional interpersonal and training skills—especially with low-literacy audiences.

Fluency in English and at least one relevant local language.

Flexibility for travel in the assigned region and virtual coordination with remote teams.
Desired:

Familiarity with agricultural tech platforms or digital data collection tools.

Experience with remote or donor-funded projects.

Self-driven, adaptable, and resourceful.

Valid motorcycle driver’s license is an asset.
