THE RESIN ARTIST

Meet Abigail. I’m a Luxury Resin Artist with a passion for interior design. I’m sure you’ve wondered how she discovered resin art and what it’s about.

One evening in 2020 during our first COVID-19 lockdown, she was on YouTube casually searching for ‘DIY’ wall decor projects and got struck by a particular video about resin. she was completely clueless about resin art so her curiosity dragged me into watching countless

videos for months! As someone who loves to create things with her ‘gifted hands’ she purchased some products to experiment with, and she loved the results!

In 2022 she launched her first collection of resin wall decor which has been exhibited in Ghana and

UK. She has also shared her in-depth knowledge and experience about resin art through her beginner-friendly private and group workshops. Although I’m based in Accra, I have trained people from other parts of Ghana and some Francophone countries such as Niger, Guinea and Togo with their translators. Currently, she has trained close to 100 participants since September 2023. About 95% of these participants have no background in art but felt truly fulfilled at the end of the workshop with heartwarming

EV, Mechanical and Electrical Engineer

Belinda Akaba has accumulated 5 years of valuable experience as a skilled electric vehicle engineer. During her impressive tenure of 4 years and 8 months at solarTaxi, she held diverse roles including head of maintenance, operations manager, facilitator, and technician, establishing herself as a standout figure in the automotive engineering field. Her expertise covers electrical, mechanical, metal fabrication, car maintenance, and repair disciplines.

Currently excelling as the Head of Engineering and Maintenance at DriveEvGh, Belinda not only showcases her leadership abilities but also extends her mentorship to emerging talents in various tertiary institutions.

Having received recognition through numerous local and international awards, Belinda’s global impact is evident in features by BBC World/Africa News and other renowned platforms, highlighting her pioneering work in electric vehicle assembly in Ghana. Her accolades also include appearances in Change Makers (Ambassade de France au Ghana), Brave Magazines, TV3, GTV, JoyNews, and other prominent media outlets.

Beyond her professional endeavours, Belinda shares her expertise by training garage owners, organizations, technical schools, individuals, and aspiring female engineers within the EV sector. Additionally, Belinda is currently a final year student at Accra Technical University, pursuing Plant Maintenance Engineering as her major within the Mechanical Engineering field.
